Digital Atlas of Virginia Flora Fund
VNPS has been an ardent supporter of the Flora of Virginia and has provided substantial financial and moral support for its critically important projects.
Now, the Digital Atlas of the Virginia Flora needs our support. The Atlas formed the backbone of the 2012 Flora and guides its evolution as an app today with constantly refined distribution and habitat data on Virginia plants.
We want to give our members and supporters a chance to actively participate in elevating the efficiency and reach of this relied upon tool by donating to the dedicated Digital Atlas of Virginia Flora Fund.
Since the creation of the digital version of the Atlas in 2005, repairs to the site have become increasingly necessary to fend off even basic malfunctions and security concerns. Improvements are also needed to increase the value of the Atlas and provide better user experience. A steady stream of suggestions for creating a stronger product has come from within the Atlas group but more importantly from the many Atlas users.
As always, the time and effort necessary to move forward means financial commitment. Every dollar you contribute toward the Digital Atlas of Virginia Flora Fund will help transform the Atlas into a well-functioning and effective tool, and through that, you will demonstrate your commitment to protect, conserve and educate about native plants and natural communities, today and for generations to come.
