What are potting parties? Throughout the year, chapter members and volunteers get together to pot up plants in preparation for the big sale. The plants may be small “plugs” purchased from native plant nurseries, or they may be plants donated by members and friends and need to be dug from an overgrown garden. It’s hard work at times but can also be fun and rewarding. It’s definitely educational. Potting parties are a good way to learn to recognize native plants at various stages of their growth.
Are there native plants you are looking for? Email your list to Emilia. We always want to know what plants you might be needing so please send us your suggestions.
Do you anticipate having extra native plants you might donate? Let us know by emailing Adrienne. Open our Plant Wish List to see some plants that we are always looking for. Getting plants donated by our members is a great way to add variety to our offerings.
It’s all for a good cause. Proceeds from the Plant Sale provide funding for Nature Camp scholarships and for other native plant related projects in our community.
Thank you to all volunteers who make it happen every year!
