Grass Class: Meet the Grasses!

When it comes to learning the grasses, nothing beats holding a specimen in your own hand. And now you can do that! Members of the Potowmack Chapter Grass Bunch have been collecting specimens (taken ethically, with permission) to share with you at our Grass Class August 29 in Great Falls.
We will introduce you to about two dozen common local species, then take you for a walk in the meadow at Riverbend Park to find species you just met in the classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to take home some specimens — common natives, introduced pasture grasses, and problematic invasives — for further study.
No previous knowledge required, just strong curiosity. Because of the hands-on nature of this class, size is limited to 12 participants and advance registration is required.
