Join Bob Vickers to visit some of the Fairfax County Champion trees he recorded in the Virginia Big Tree Registry. The walk will be a faster pace and cover about 3 miles. We will need to carpool from our meeting point in Great Falls, so please do not register if you cannot stay the entire time.

Bob Vickers

Bob Vickers worked for the CIA for many years as a senior intelligence officer. Although not a trained arborist, his interest in trees led him to join the Fairfax County Tree Commission on 2007. This was soon after Bob found the Virginia state champion elm tree along the Potomac and discovered there was a Virginia Big Tree Registry at Virginia Tech. After that he got hooked on finding big trees. Bob received the 2023 Friends of Trees Award from the Fairfax County Tree Commission.

We can accommodate only eight (8) participants on this walk and may have a waitlist for cancellations.
