Fraser Preserve is a Nature Conservancy Site, featuring approximately 2.25 miles of easy walking trails.
There will be bluebells for sure, but other spring ephemerals may be different from those seen at Turkey Run. Just how many we see will depend in part on how far we go: this can be a 3 mile walk or a 4 mile walk to get all the way down to the Potomac. Photo below is of Early Saxifrage (Micranthes virginiensis) as seen at Fraser on March 23, 2021, so you can expect to see them a bit farther along on April 7.
Park on Allenwood and meet at the corner of Allenwood & Springvale. Walking sticks recommended as we go down & up Fraser’s hills. Expect mud somewhere along the route. Dress for the weather, bring water, any snacks you need, sunblock, insect repellent, whatever else you need to feel comfortable walking in the woods.
There are no restrooms available to us. Limit 15. Please leave your pets at home.
