Stroll through this beautiful 95-acre botanical gardens with Keith Tomlinson, manager of the gardens, for a tour of three native plant collections:  The Potomac Valley Collection – plants native to the Potomac River Basin, the Virginia Native Tree Collection, and the Virginia Native Wetland.  A reception and refreshments will be available to registered participants.

Keith Tomlinson has Managed Meadowlark Botanical Gardens since 1998.  Previously, he worked as the Natural History Education Specialist at Bishop Museum in Honolulu.  Working as a naturalist for over thirty years, Keith has studied wilderness areas and botanical gardens in Asia, the Pacific, Africa, the Americas and Europe.  Keith has written numerous technical and popular articles on conservation of plant diversity, botanical garden travel and environmental education.  His work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Honolulu Star-Bulletin and The Washington Post.  Keith is a contributor to the new book, Native Plants of the Mid-Atlantic, with Inglett Press, in 2014.  Keith was a consulting editor for the Smithsonian Guides to Natural America.  In 2003 he received a Lifetime Biology Fellowship at the Washington DC Academy of Sciences for creating the Potomac Valley Collection at Meadowlark.

    Working on a project that involves mapping trees on the Noland Trail in Mariners Museum Park and along QR code tree signs and trees GPS marked on map that is accessible online. Does your GPS class relate? Please email with more information, its a long drive there.
