The Potowmack Chapter invites you to a presentation by Rod Simmons on the several dozen native grasses that are often associated with forested natural community types of the piedmont, fall line, and coastal plain of our area. Grasses of upland forest, slopes and ravines, seeps and bogs, stream valleys and alluvial floodplains, and bottomland swamps will be discussed. Identification and good places to see grasses in the region will also be discussed, as well as associated grass-like plants. This presentation is offered to the public at no cost, reservations are not necessary, please come!

Note: Rod will follow-up this lecture with a field trip to Gold Mine Tract and Bear Island on Saturday, September 27.  Registration for the field trip will open shortly at https://vnps20140927.eventbrite.com
