MilkweedEileen Malone-Brown received her Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2010. Eileen’s garden serves as the primary source of her inspiration, since she prefers to draw and paint what she grows and can easily observe. Over the past decade, Eileen incorporated more mid-Atlantic native plants into her garden with very satisfying results. She also enjoys researching each plant’s history and its uses, particularly those plants with medicinal properties. Eileen is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Botanical Artists of the National Capital Region, and serves as an at-large board member of the Botanical Artists for Education & the Environment. Her work has been shown at Monticello’s Jefferson Library, the Delaware Art Museum, Alexandria’s Athenaeum and the U.S. Botanic Garden, in Washington, D.C.
