Our speaker for the February 27 meeting at Norfolk Botanical Garden will be Janet Pawlukiewicz, who will show a major grounds renovation at Westminster Canturbury on Chesapeake Bay, using many plants native to Hampton Roads.

Janet has a BA in Biology from Long Island University, as well as a Masters in Public Administration from The George Washington University. She is currently Chair of the Landscape Committee at Westminster Canterbury. Janet recently retired from her position as First Vice President of the State VNPS organization. We are looking forward to an excellent presentation on use of natives in a larger setting.

If you know someone who is plant, conservation or nature oriented, especially if they are a compelling speaker, please ask them if they would be interested in speaking at one of our meetings and pass the names on to Steve Stasulis at stasulisss@hotmail.com.

Chapter meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month, September through May, except as noted below. Meetings are free and open to the public so bring a friend. Light refreshments are served before the meeting at 6:30 pm. The speaker starts at 7:00 pm followed by a brief chapter meeting.

Meetings will be held in the refurbished Old Administration Building, Garden Room, at Norfolk Botanical Garden (NBG). Note that occasional scheduling conflicts at the Garden may necessitate a room change. The alternate location will likely be the Holly Room in Baker Hall. Please check the schedule each month to verify the location of our meeting.

Gates close at 7 pm so please arrive in time to get in.
