J Leighton Reid is a restoration ecologist and professor in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech. His lab group is most interested in questions about how and where ecological restoration can best address the challenges of climate change, mass extinction, and the erosion of natural capital at regional, national, and global scales. He leads an undergraduate major in Ecological Restoration, coordinates an interdisciplinary Restoration Ecology Working Group, and advises the Society for Ecological Restoration Student Association at Virginia Tech (SER-VT).
