Join Mary Jane Epps, Natural Areas Biologist at the Division of Natural Heritage and Jefferson Chapter member, to hunt for mushrooms and other fungi and learn about how they interact with plants and animals to shape the ecology of our forests. Fall is peak mushroom season in our area so there should be lots to discover.
This counts for continuing education hours for Master Naturalists.

Our monthly walks are free and open to the public — beginners are welcome. The two-hour walk will be leisurely, with a few uneven grades. Dress to discourage mosquitoes and ticks. Bring water and wear sunscreen. As always at Ivy Creek: No dogs. No foraging or collecting. This is a fair weather walk which will be cancelled in the event of meaningful rain.
