Jefferson Chapter meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm at the Ivy Creek Natural Area Education Building. Visitors are always welcome! Come listen to a great talk and see what we are about!
During March’s Chapter meeting, Dorothy Tompkins will update us on the progress of the McIntire Botanical Garden. Since retiring from her career on the faculty in the School of Medicine at UVA, Dorothy has served two terms as president of Piedmont Master Gardeners, has been president of Rivanna Master Naturalists, and has initiated a gardening class in the Reentry Program at Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail. She started a Junior Naturalist program in Albemarle County, participated in the Charlottesville Schoolyard Garden program and started the Demonstration Garden at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She is currently on the board of Albemarle Garden Club and Piedmont Master Gardeners, among many other public service activities and honors
