A guided, members-only walk at Hotchkiss Prairie in Bath County. This prairie remnant features many rare plants once common throughout our region. See below for a list of plants that were blooming in August last year. Due to the sensitive nature of the prairie and limited parking (only two vehicles!), we are planning to meet nearby to park and then all pile into two vehicles. We are hoping there are two people with vans (or other 3rd-row seating) that could volunteer their services for this part.
The walk will be limited to 10 people (unless we find two larger vehicles and then may be able to increase to 12-15). Lora, our VP and membership coordinator, will be keeping a sign-up sheet. Priority will be given to two drivers of vans (or other large vehicles) otherwise the list will be based on the order of sign-up. Please do not sign-up unless you are fairly certain you can go. If you do sign up and plans change, please let Lora know so that members on the wait list can be contacted.
