Time to Plan for the Fall Native Plant Sale!
A message from Carol Schwobel:
It’s Spring and time to grow natives for our fall sale!
You may remember that last year we made $4,208.32!
We are ready to send out the grant applications for youth native plant gardens, but we are also starting to plan for the next sale in fall 2021! And that’s where you come in. We could not have done it without all the dedicated and talented volunteers who made it the success it was. Won’t you consider helping out this year? Please send an email to me if you are interested!
Let me know if you’d like to contribute in any of the following ways:
- Pot up native seedlings and divisions from your yard
- Make pot tags – some skill with MS Word & a laser printer (toner not ink) but also easy work that can be done in front of the TV
- Pot up plugs that we buy
- Plant-sit over the summer – in an area protected from deer and rabbits
- Make information sheets – interest in researching and learning about plants and copying and pasting info from internet sources onto a template
- Make decorative signs
- Help setting up the day before and helping the day of the sale – moving pots and/or interacting with customers
- Whatever is needed
- Want to help out but short on time? You can sponsor ½ or full tray of plugs, or fund a bag or bags of soil (this year we are using a sustainable potting soil rather than a peat-based mix)
