This walk will be in two parts. The first part will be looking at plants and discussing the effects of climate change on certain marked trees and shrubs along the trail. We will also identify other plants and discuss their ecological importance to man and nature. The second part of the walk will be to hike to McAfee’s Knob. This has one of the most spectacular views on the entire trail. It is 3.9 mile walk to the knob. If some folks want to walk the first part only and come back early that is fine. Wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water. A walking stick may come in handy. Be sure to bring a lunch.
