Buffalo Mountain Natural Area Preserve

Ryan Klopf, the Mountain Region Steward of the Department of Conservation and Recreation, Division of Natural Heritage, has generously offered to lead the group on a field trip to Buffalo Mountain. Buffalo Mountain is one of the most significant natural areas in Virginia. It boasts an amazing 13 rare plant occurrences, 3 rare animal occurrences, and 6 significant natural communities.
