Our Plant Sale is held at our propagation beds across the driveway behind the Horticulture Center at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA. Our knowledgeable Propagation Bed Volunteers are looking forward to visiting with you and helping you select the right plants for your environment.
Now is a good time to choose fall-blooming plants, like Flat-top Goldenrod, Euthamia graminifolia, which offers butterflies such a nice landing place, like the Buckeye below. We have lots of asters and goldenrods: White Wood Aster & Big-leaf Aster in bloom now & New England & various small white Asters for late season bloom. And Fall is the best time to plant woodies like this year’s VNPS wildflower of the year Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis).
