Join the Friends of Dyke Marsh (FODM) for a fall nature walk on Monday, November 1, from 2 to 5 pm led by Margaret Chatham, FODM member and Alan Ford, President of the Potowmack Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society.

It’s hard to predict just which bright colors Dyke Marsh will be aflame in at any given time. Some examples of what we might see are bright red sumac leaves and fruits, poison ivy and Virginia creeper vines in red and yellow hues, the purple berries of pokeweed plants and their red stems after the fruits are eaten, and narrow-leaf cattails releasing their seeds.
