Enjoy the turning leaves and perhaps a few late flowers with Margaret Chatham and Alan Ford — who knows? A beautiful time to visit the Marsh.

The Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve is a freshwater, tidal marsh on the Virginia side of the Potomac River in Fairfax County. It is a unit of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, managed by the U.S. National Park Service.

The Friends of Dyke Marsh, formed in 1975, raises money to sponsor scientific studies of the marsh; conducting nature walks; conducting surveys, including the annual breeding bird survey; hosting trash cleanups; preparing informational materials; encouraging public stewardship; and helping NPS control invasive plants. The Friends of Dyke Marsh (FODM) are dedicated to preserving, protecting and restoring the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve, in partnership with the National Park Service, as a vital wildlife habitat, through education, science, advocacy and stewardship.

Space is limited, and registration is required
