Plant NOVA Natives, Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission will together offer a workshop on managing stormwater in your home landscape on Saturday, November 10th, from 10am until noon, at Arlington Mill Community Center.

The City of Alexandria’s stormwater engineer will go over various techniques such as rain gardens and rain barrels and explain how they work to reduce the amount of stormwater runoff that enters our local streams. Learn about how you can participate in the incentive programs provided by the City of Alexandria, NOVA Soil and Water Conservation District, and Arlington County.

Renowned landscape designer John Magee will provide pointers on designing with native plants to manage and mitigate stormwater, and local programs to help finance mitigation efforts will be described.
