Please meet Phil and Ellie at the Coach House Parking area where we will begin our walk. Morven Park, a 1,000 acre historic estate of Westmorland Davis, a past Governor of Virginia, first opened to the public in 1967. Our hike will be on the Catoctin Ridge where, in recent years Loudoun students and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy volunteers have improved the tails and enhanced/created several vernal pools. The walk will include a short, but steep uphill walk before it becomes relatively flat an easy. The flora will be primarily a mixed hardwood forest.
Participants should wear sturdy, waterproof hiking shoes and dress for the weather.
