The 2027 Annual Native Plant Sale <\/strong>is in the works. It will be on Saturday, May 1 at the Community Building in Williamsburg, 401 N. Boundary St. Potting parties are happening now – one in Ashland on Nov. 5, and one in Williamsburg on Nov. 8. Photos from previous potting parties can be seen below.<\/p>\n

All take place from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Contact Janet<\/a> to get the address and more information.<\/p>\n

Volunteers will need to bring their own gloves.<\/p>\n

Donations needed:<\/p>\n

Native plants, organic potting soil, one-gallon nursery pots<\/p>\n

What are potting parties?<\/strong> Throughout the year, chapter members and volunteers get together to pot up plants in preparation for the big sale. The plants may be small “plugs” purchased from native plant nurseries, or they may be plants donated by members and friends and need to be dug from an overgrown garden. It’s hard work at times but can also be fun and rewarding. It’s definitely educational.\u00a0 Potting parties are a good way to learn to recognize native plants at various stages of their growth.<\/p>\n

Are there native plants you are looking for<\/strong>? Email your list to Emilia<\/a>. We always want to know what plants you might be needing so please send us your suggestions.<\/p>\n

Do you anticipate having extra native plants you might donate<\/strong>? Let us know by emailing Adrienne<\/a>. Open our Plant Wish List<\/a> to see some plants that we are always looking for. Getting plants donated by our members is a great way to add variety to our offerings.<\/p>\n

It’s all for a good cause.<\/strong> Proceeds from the Plant Sale provide funding for Nature Camp scholarships and for other native plant related projects in our community.<\/p>\n
