Please join the John Clayton Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society at their September meeting at the Yorktown Library. This meeting is free and open to the public.
The guest lecturer will be Rebecca Wilson, Longleaf pine Restoration Specialist, Prescribed Fire Manager, and Regional Supervisor for the Virginia’s Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Natural Heritage Program. Her talk will outline the aspects of history and ecology necessary to understand how Virginia’s Founding Forest went from dominance to near extinction and what it will take to bring it back.
