“Using the Flora of Virginia” will be held at:

Blandy Experimental Farm (State Arboretum of Virginia)

Marion Lobstein and Sally Anderson are offering a two-part workshop on the Flora of Virginia on Friday, April 3 and Friday, April 10 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Blandy Experimental Farm, the State Arboretum of Virginia. These workshop sessions will include lecture and field sessions on use of the Flora of Virginia as well as recognizing common plant families include in the Flora and taxonomic changes in the plant scientific names.  Both sessions should be attended if possible.  Please bring a lunch, a 10X ocular/magnifier (some will be available to borrow), and a copy of the Flora of Virginia (either the first or second printing – some copies will be available to borrow). Pre-registration is required.  Please call 540-837-1758 ext. 224 or 287 at Blandy to register or for additional information.  The cost of the workshop sessions is $35 for FOSA (Foundation of the State Arboretum) or for VNPS (Virginia Native Plant Society) members and $40 for non-members.
