This field trip is organized by the Northern Neck Chapter of VNPS and will be a 2-3 hour walk through the Hickory Hollow Natural Area Preserve in Lancaster county, culminating at a globally rare coastal plain calcareous seepage swamp, which is home to a wide variety of mountain disjuncts.
Several orchids should be in bloom, including one that only occurs in this Preserve in Virginia.
If there is enough interest, a trip to Hickory Hollow could be arranged for another May date.
