On Great North Mountain in the George Washington National Forest at the VA/WV line we will see a variety of trees, some already changed and others still in fall colors. There will be few if any actual flowers, although there are interesting plants along the way.
The entire hike to an overlook is about 2.5 miles (out and back) on an old road. The beginning is flat-ish and slightly slightly rocky, and the trail gets gradually a little steeper midway. Participants can do as much or as little as they like, but a stunning view awaits those who reach the top.
Please be aware that it is archery and muzzleloader season, and try to wear blaze orange or pink items if you have them.
