The Prince William Wildflower Society welcomes the general public to its annual spring garden tour, an educational event to highlight the use of native plants in the garden. In a departure from our usual homeowners’ gardens, one of this year’s gardens is a small family cemetery that suggests how natives can be used in limited spaces such as townhouse gardens. None of our featured gardens uses natives exclusively, and all battle invasive alien plants.

The address listed here is just for the Thompson Garden, where refreshments will be served, but don’t miss the Blecksmith Garden and Arrington Family Cemetery Garden.

Visit these gardens on Sunday, April 24 any time between the hours of noon and 5 p.m., rain or shine. The Blecksmith and Thompson gardens were both on tour in 2013. Start at any of these gardens and use your favorite online mapping program or the general directions on the reverse. Watch for small bright pink directional signs near the gardens.

Please see our flier for more details. For further information, or additional copies of this flier, please contact Nancy Vehrs at 703-368-2898, email nvehrs1@yahoo.com, or go online at www.vnps.org and click on chapters.
