The Library of Virginia’s traveling Flora of Virginia exhibition is coming to the Burke Branch of the Alexandria Library!  Please join us for an event to welcome the exhibit to Northern Virginia on September 8 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  Joslin Gallatin, who chairs the Flora Project’s audit and finance committee and sits on its development committee, will provide opening remarks.
  AND!

HometownHabitat_01Following remarks by Ms. Gallatin, everyone is invited to see a screening of the new movie—Hometown Habitat, Stories of Bringing Nature Home. This documentary, produced by The Meadow Project in cooperation with Doug Tallamy, shows (beautifully) exactly why native plants are important, and also highlights projects around the country that have used native plants to solve  problems, beautify the landscape, and bring communities together in meaningful ways.  You won’t want to miss the chance to see this important documentary.  RSVP is appreciated; if you know you can attend, please click here. Helps us with seating!

Proudly sponsored by The Potowmack Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society,  Plant NoVA Natives Campaign and the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries
